Meet Mr. Mastrangelo

Mr. Peter Mastrangelo

I am proud to serve as the Principal of Bergen Boulevard School and look forward to collaborating with each of you throughout the school year. As I begin my 26th year in the District and my 10th full year at Bergen Boulevard, I am excited to work alongside our dedicated staff to provide the highest quality educational program for our students.
We remain steadfast in our commitment to creating a learning environment that offers rich experiences and supports the intellectual, social, emotional, and physical development of every child. Our goal is to ensure that each student not only achieves academic success but also develops a strong sense of purpose and motivation—both within our school and in the broader community.

At Bergen Boulevard, we focus on social-emotional learning, high standards for instruction, small group teaching, and community engagement to help all students thrive. Students enhance their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills through the Wonders program; build mathematical understanding through a differentiated enVision Math program; and explore the world around them through Knowing Science and our engaging social studies curriculum.

The 2025–2026 school year promises to be an exciting one, as we continue to cultivate a safe and intellectually stimulating learning environment that encourages students to become creative problem solvers and critical thinkers.
Our classrooms are equipped with advanced technology including SMART Boards, Promethean Boards, Chromebooks, and document cameras. These tools allow our teachers to foster critical thinking and global connections, enriching the educational experience far beyond the walls of our school.

With the support of resources like Rethink, IXL, Raz-Kids, Scholastic Magazines for Kids, Mystery Science, and TumbleBooks, our teachers are able to personalize instruction and meet the individual needs of all learners.
We use both formative and summative assessments to guide and evaluate instruction. Formative assessments help drive daily instructional decisions, while summative assessments, such as benchmarks and end-of-unit tests, help us assess student learning and improve our educational programs.

On behalf of the Bergen Boulevard faculty and staff, I warmly invite you to partner with us in making this school year an extraordinary one. Together, we can create a place where children are empowered to reach their full potential and achieve their dreams.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. I look forward to a wonderful school year with you and your family!
