Resource

My name is Tiffany Kerr,  Special Education Resource Teacher at Slocum Skewes Elementary and Bergen Boulevard School for grades 1-5, and 8. Welcome to another school year! I have taught Special Education in the Ridgefield Public Schools District since 2013. I love teaching the wonders of math on various levels! I earned my Bachelor's Degree from the University of California, Berkeley and completed the Rutgers University Graduate School of Education Endorsement Program for Teachers of Students with Disabilities.

For grades 1-5, we follow classroom curriculum in addition to Recipe for Reading and TouchMath systems that enables all students to grasp foundational literacy and math concepts while using multi-sensory resources that diversify material for a better understanding. For grade 8, basic skills are reinforced to aide in understanding grade level material and modifications are given for success when needed. In Resource, your child will benefit from a small group setting and 1:1 classroom assistance with me. I love to have fun while learning and positive fun is the best way to learn and practice the use of letters and numbers.

When I am not teaching math I love spending time with my family and friends, going for walks, cooking, and visiting museums and gardens. I also love a good spa day, the color pink, and french fries!
